Dance Art Foundation and Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Charity are seeking to appoint a Freelance Evaluation Consultant for a dance-in-health project at Snowsfields Adolescent Psychiatric Unit in London, part of Dance Art Foundation’s celebrated Breathing Space programme principally supported by the True Colours Trust. The project comprises dance workshops with young people working across the curriculum and in support of OT and psychological services. The project will also offer introductory and staff training sessions for clinical, education, care and support staff.
This is a pilot project incorporating evaluative research to identify and propose the research focus and framework, including appropriate methodologies and personnel, for a year-long study of Breathing Space delivery in adolescent psychiatric settings. The partnership is particularly keen to innovate new research methodologies that will represent equally medical and artistic priorities in the analysis of current practice, the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of findings.
The ideal candidate for this position will be an established consultant with a minimum of 3-5 years experience of undertaking evaluative research in arts education or arts-in-health. Applicants with a thorough understanding of life sciences research methodologies, excellent communication skills, experience of working with a diversity of stakeholders and disciplines and the ability to inspire and enthuse are particularly welcome.
This is a five-day freelance contract remunerated at £250 per day. All those working on the Breathing Space programme are required to adhere to Dance Art Foundation’s Code of Practice and Safeguarding Policy.
