Dance & Critical Theory Group
 (DCTG) was convened in 2008 by dance artists Joe Moran and Florence Peake and emerged from an interest to explicitly locate artistic practice and inquires within critical frameworks and to explore critical theory and philosophical ideas in an informal, yet professional, collegial context.

In 2008-09, Dance & Critical Theory Group considered the work of Jerome Bel and Xavier Le Roy, writing by Andre Lepeki, Characters, Figures and Signs - the art/choreography symposium at Tate Modern, and Phenomenology, specifically Merleau-Ponty's writings on the body.
